Iron Mountain, Recall Deal to Proceed Under DOJ Accord

Iron Mountain Inc. can close its proposed $2.6 billion purchase of Recall Holdings Ltd. upon divesting Recall’s records management assets in 15 U.S. cities, according to a March 31 consent order reached with the Justice Department (U.S. v. Iron Mountain Inc., D.D.C., 16-cv-00595, 3/31/16).

Iron Mountain, the largest American document storage and data management business, announced the proposed merger with Recall Holdings in June 2015. The DOJ said in a March 31 complaint filed in D.C. federal court that the tie up would reduce competition for hard-copy records management services in 15 cities.
