Investors are worried Starbucks has dissolved without notice a board committee that oversees labor relations and environmental and social initiatives, which they said could open the company to legal and reputational risks.

References to Starbucks Corp.’s Environmental, Partner, and Community Impact, or EPCI, board committee no longer appear on the company’s website and were missing from its most recent annual filing, New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, SOC Investment Group, and a handful of other shareholders flagged in a Jan. 20 letter to the board.
