Illumina Sued for Records by Pension Fund Amid Icahn Court Fight

A pension fund is suing Illumina Inc. for records over concerns that its failed $7 billion acquisition of Grail Inc. was the result of reckless corporate decision making.

The lawsuit, filed Wednesday, seeks internal documents to investigate allegations that the board pushed to complete the transaction despite antitrust worries that led regulators in the US and EU to block the deal, which the gene-sequencing giant is now unwinding. The company has so far turned over only redacted files, according to the complaint in Delaware’s Chancery Court.
