Harvard President to Stay on Indefinitely Amid Trump Clash (3)

Harvard University President Alan Garber agreed to stay on for “an indefinite time beyond” mid-2027, extending his leadership of the oldest and richest US university as it faces off against President Donald Trump.

“Since taking up the duties of the presidency in January 2024, Alan has demonstrated even more fully the remarkable qualities apparent during his twelve-plus years as Harvard’s provost and chief academic officer,” Penny Pritzker, senior fellow of Harvard Corp., said in a statement Monday. “He is a servant leader with uncommon intellectual breadth and unbounded curiosity.”
