Matthew Axelrod joined Gibson Dunn as a partner in its white collar defense and investigations practice group in Washington, the firm announced Thursday.
Axelrod’s practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, internal investigations, and compliance counseling for US and foreign institutions and executives. He will co-chair the firm’s new sanctions and export enforcement practice group, the firm said.
He joins from the Commerce Department, where he was assistant secretary for export enforcement in the Bureau of Industry and Security.
