The Federal Trade Commission convinced a federal court to issue a temporary restraining order against two phone plan sales companies that ran an alleged scam offering unlimited calling plans to prison inmates.
“These defendants ripped off families with loved ones in prison, selling them fake calling plans that were supposed to allow unlimited calls with those inmates,” Andrew Smith, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, said in a statement Friday.
