Former Target Legal Chief’s Severance Package Exceeds $5 Million

The legal chief Target Corp. fired last spring made $5.8 million in the year of her departure, including a nearly $1 million first round of severance payments in 2025.

The $981,699 that former top lawyer Amy Tu received in connection with her termination is part of a larger severance package, currently valued at $5.3 million, to be paid out over two years, according to a Target proxy statement filed Monday.

Along with the severance installments, her 2025 compensation included a pro-rated base salary of $285,577 and $4.5 million in stock awards. Her pay package was $10.5 million in 2024.
