Former Compliance Chief Joins Goldman’s Management Committee

A former in-house lawyer and Big Law associate is one of five executives appointed to the management committee of The Goldman Sachs Group Inc.

Asahi Pompey, a Guyanese immigrant raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., was tapped Jan. 13 to join the management committee after previously serving as co-chief compliance officer and global head of investment banking division compliance at the New York-based bank.

Pompey didn’t respond to a request for comment about her new role, which sees her join a group of 35 executives serving on the senior governing body for the financial services giant. She was promoted to partner at ...
