The EPA is proposing to revise a Biden administration approach to estimating formaldehyde’s health risks, which would result in certain occupations no longer posing unreasonable risk.
The Environmental Protection Agency will release for public comment on Wednesday an “updated draft risk calculation memorandum” detailing the scientific changes it’s proposing to make to the formaldehyde risk evaluation released in 2024.
The changes will affect some of its risk calculations, but the EPA said it “is not changing its position that formaldehyde poses unreasonable risk of injury to human health.”
