Ford Victory in Muslim Engineer’s Bias Lawsuit Nixed on Appeal

Ford Motor Co. must again face a former engineer’s claims of discrimination and retaliation after an appeals court said Wednesday that the lower court was too quick to toss his case.

The worker plausibly alleged that the automaker fired him because he’s a Middle Eastern Muslim, so his race, national origin, and religious bias suit shouldn’t have been dismissed, the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said. He also plausibly alleged that he faced mistreatment shortly after complaining of discrimination, supporting his retaliation claim, the unpublished opinion said.
