Fink Says BlackRock Doesn’t Want to Be ‘Environmental Police’

BlackRock Inc. Chief Executive Officer Larry Fink said his firm and other asset managers shouldn’t be responsible for ensuring that their portfolio companies are doing their part to protect the planet.

“I don’t want to be the environmental police,” Fink said Thursday in a Bloomberg Television interview. “It’s wrong to ask the private sector” to take on such a role, he said.
