FAA’s Whitaker Says Boeing Has ‘Long Road’ to Improve Safety (1)

Boeing Co. has a “long road” ahead when it comes to improving its safety culture and manufacturing processes, FAA Administrator Michael Whitaker said in an interview on Good Morning America Thursday.

The company has been tasked with presenting the Federal Aviation Administration with a 90-day plan at the end of this month to address quality breakdowns at its factories after a door plug on a nearly-new 737 Max blew off mid-air in January. The plan is also supposed to address cultural issues identified by a panel of experts in February.
