Ex-HSBC Banker to Become CEO of Carbon-Offset Seller South Pole

South Pole, one of the world’s largest sellers of carbon offsets, has appointed Daniel Klier as its chief executive officer, almost four months after announcing its existing CEO was stepping back following a string of scandals.

Klier, who headed sustainable finance at HSBC Holdings Plc until mid-2021 and has also held senior roles at McKinsey & Co. and ESG Book, will join the company in May, according to a statement on Wednesday.
