EV Maker Faraday Ends Investor Case Thanks to Related Settlement

Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc. affiliates prevailed Monday against a challenge to the company’s blank-check merger thanks to a related earlier settlement that bought them “global peace.”

A Delaware judge threw out the case, granting summary judgment to the electric vehicle startup and architects of the transaction that took it public by combining it with a shell company. Faraday founder Jia Yueting, an exiled Chinese tycoon, wasn’t directly involved in the court fight, but the lawsuit did target an entity affiliated with his nephew.
