ESG DAILY: JPMorgan Ends 2020 as Top Underwriter of Green Bonds

JPMorgan Chase was the No. 1 underwriter of green bonds in 2020 during a year when sales increased 12% worldwide to more than $230 billion. The New York-based bank had a 6.1% share of the market.

  • French banks BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole ranked second and third, followed by Citigroup and Barclays, data compiled by Bloomberg show
  • BNP Paribas was the top arranger of global green loans, ahead of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial and Societe Generale, and also sustainability-linked loans, ahead of Banco Santander and JPMorgan
