ESG Bottoms 2023 Priorities for Mid-Sized Businesses: Report

Goals to improve sustainable practices ranked lowest among mid-sized business executives, according to the results of a survey published Thursday.

Just 4.5% of companies listed sustainability or environmental, social and corporate governance as their top focus in 2023, according to a survey of 252 mid-sized businesses by accounting firm UHY LLP.

Priorities such as new business models and profitability ranked the highest in the study, which comes as companies big and small face mounting economic uncertainty like recession risks, fragile supply chains, and workforce challenges.
