Engie SA boss Catherine MacGregor urged Europe not to get hooked on liquefied natural gas and to keep decarbonizing its economy to safeguard both its independence and competitiveness.

Many European nations were forced to turn to LNG imports as Moscow squeezed gas flows, triggering an energy crisis following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
