Engie Picks Oil Veteran MacGregor as CEO to Quicken Green Push

Engie SA, the French utility that wants to accelerate its pivot toward green energy, picked Catherine MacGregor, who’s made her entire career in the oil and gas industry, as its new chief executive officer.

Engie’s board ousted her predecessor Isabelle Kocher in February over management and strategic disagreements. The company has since been led by Chairman Jean-Pierre Clamadieu and interim CEO Claire Waysand. Like Waysand and Kocher earlier, MacGregor will be the only female CEO of a company in France’s main stock index.
