Energy Development Oman, a state-backed company that controls the country’s biggest oil block, has appointed Mazin Al Lamki as chief executive officer, effective from 1Q 2022, the company said on Twitter.

  • Al Lamki is currently chief operating officer at Mubadala Petroleum
    • He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Manchester
  • He replaces Haifa Al Khaifi, who became CEO of the Omani company in January, in what was a rare appointment for a woman in a male-dominated sector in the Middle East
