DraftKings Agrees to Pay $22 Million in Golden Nugget Deal Case

DraftKings Inc. has agreed to pay $22 million to end litigation challenging its $1.6 billion acquisition of Golden Nugget Online Gaming Inc. from billionaire entertainment mogul Tilman Fertitta.

The proposed settlement, docketed Monday, would resolve a lawsuit filed by former Golden Nugget shareholders against members of its board, including Fertitta, owner of Landry’s Inc. and the NBA’s Houston Rockets. The DraftKings deal closed in May 2022.

Although the suit didn’t name DraftKings as a defendant, the online gaming giant is responsible for making the settlement payment, according to filings disclosing the agreement in Delaware’s Chancery Court. The accord requires ...
