LRN Corp. founder Dov Seidman secured an $18 million defamation settlement over a rival businessman’s false allegations about his stewardship of the corporate compliance company.
The accord disclosed Monday will resolve Seidman’s claims against Activision co-founder Howard Marks, who now leads StartEngine, a private market investment platform affiliated with Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary. The expressly “non-confidential” agreement was initially reached last month, on the eve of a trial that would have set the damages owed by Marks, who was previously found liable for defamation, according to a joint filing in Delaware’s Chancery Court.
