DOJ Settles Marketing Antitrust Claims With W. Va. Hospitals

The DOJ has reached a proposed settlement with two West Virginia hospitals that allegedly violated federal antitrust laws by agreeing to allocate territories for the marketing of health-care services (United States v. Charleston Area Med. Ctr., S.D. W.Va., 2:16-cv-03664, proposed consent judgment 4/14/16).

Under the terms of the settlement, the two hospitals, St. Mary’s Medical Center Inc. in Huntington, W.Va., and Charleston Area Medical Center Inc.
