Disney investors voted against a proposal asking the entertainment giant “for clear policies and reporting” on how its political donations align with its values.

The proposal, put forward by the Educational Foundation of America, a progressive activist organization, asked the company for an annual report analyzing how Disney’s donations match its public statements and policies.

Shareholder proposals to shed light on political spending ramped up last proxy season. Investor groups have been especially interested in transparency around companies’ contributions to lawmakers working to curb abortion access since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
