Disney Investors Reject China Risk, Political Spending Proposals

Disney shareholders on Monday rejected proposals raising concerns about the risk of doing business in China and the company’s political spending.

A proposal filed by the National Legal and Policy Center called for a report detailing the company’s reliance on operations in China, while the Educational Foundation of America presented a proposal seeking a report on how the company’s political spending lines up with its public statements, policies and values. The China proposal secured 7% of investor votes at the meeting based on preliminary results discussed at the meeting.
