Chief legal officer and general counsel Wanjiku Walcott’s compensation totaled more than $10.4 million, according to an annual proxy statement filed Monday by Discover. That’s more than the in-house legal chiefs earned at several leading financial services companies.
Walcott joined Discover last summer to replace retiring law department leader Kelly McNamara Corley, who spent nearly four decades at the suburban Chicago-based company. Discover, owner of the credit card of the same name, also controls Discover Bank and the Diners Club International network.
