DaVita Gets Green Light to Buy Rival Dialysis Provider

DaVita Inc., the nation’s second largest outpatient dialysis operator, got permission from the Federal Trade Commission March 28 to complete its merger with Renal Ventures Management LLC after it divests seven dialysis centers in New Jersey and Texas.

The deal may put DaVita ahead of its main rival in the outpatient dialysis market, Fresenius Medical Care N.A., Mark Neumann, Editor-in-Chief of Nephrology News & Issues told Bloomberg BNA.
