CVS Gets Injunction Against Exec Who Left for Amazon’s PillPack

CVS Pharmacy Inc. convinced a court to temporarily enforce a non-compete agreement against a senior executive who left the company to join competitor PillPack, a unit of Amazon.com Inc., months after signing it.

Defendant John Lavin’s new job violates the agreement he made with CVS because he’d be doing the same or similar work at PillPack and would likely harm CVS by disclosing confidential information, said Judge John J. McConnell Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island.

He granted CVS a preliminary injunction enforcing the agreement.
