Cutera Inc.'s ousted chairman and chief executive opened a new front in their feud with a rival leadership faction, suing five “rogue” directors in Delaware over claims they created a “shadow board” to run the business.

The court case comes amid an escalating war of words and board battle. It pits Daniel Plants and David Mowry—who are contesting their removals as chairman and CEO, respectively—against other members of Cutera’s board, including interim chairwoman Janet Widmann and interim CEO Sheila Hopkins.
