Curaleaf Fails to Sidestep Ex-Reef Dispensaries Owners’ Suit (1)

Curaleaf Holdings Inc. lost its bid Friday to end litigation over claims it’s trying to help itself to a $9 million discount after buying Reef Dispensaries for $181 million.

It’s possible the country’s largest retail cannabis business breached the sale agreement by obstructing the efforts of Reef’s former owners to understand a post-closing price adjustment sought by Curaleaf, a judge ruled. The case involves just those dispute resolution provisions of the deal, not a request for money damages.
