The International Sustainability Standards Board said Wednesday that 11 countries or regions are consulting on using its standards to underpin new corporate reporting regimes.
So far, only Brazil has announced concrete plans to require that businesses follow the board’s standards for reporting on climate-related issues such as carbon emissions. Nigeria, Malaysia, Singapore, and India are currently asking for public comments on draft plans for national reporting requirements.
Others, including the UK, Australia, and the European Union have finished similar consultations but haven’t confirmed they will require companies to use the ISSB’s approach. The EU hopes pan-European reporting requirements that ...
