COP30 President Expects China to Set ‘Ambitious’ Climate Targets

After a week of meetings in Beijing, the man running global climate negotiations this year says he expects China to set ambitious targets and help contribute to a successful summit even after the US abandoned the process.

Andre Correa do Lago, the president of this year’s United Nations Conference of Parties, said he believes China is developing “very ambitious” nationally determined contributions that it will publish in the months ahead.
