Convenience Store Chain Rebuffs Investors’ Emission-Cutting Bid

Casey’s General Stores Inc. investors rejected a proposal on Wednesday urging the convenience store chain to set goals to cut its greenhouse gas emissions and detail its plans and progress toward meeting those targets.

The proposal, put forward by activist investors As You Sow, asked the Iowa-headquartered company to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, and to detail its intentions in a report. The bid also directed Casey’s to report annual progress toward meeting emissions reduction goals.
