Comcast Corporation shareholders on Wednesday voted against proposals calling for a report on political spending and changes to its greenhouse gas emissions targets.
One proposal, filed by Arjuna Capital, said Comcast’s political spending “appears to be misaligned with its public statements on company values, views, and operational practices.”
While Comcast has promoted initiatives designed to advance gender equity in the company, it also has contributed at least $8 million dollars to political recipients working to weaken access to reproductive healthcare since the beginning of the 2020 election cycle, according to the Arujuna Capital proposal.
