Coca-Cola Postpones Goals for Using Recycled Materials to 2035

Coca-Cola is now pushing back its timetable to shift toward recycled material and other environmental goals, saying the moves reflect changing priorities.

“The company is prioritizing goals and actions that seek to improve water security in high-risk locations, reduce packaging waste and decrease emissions, and is extending the timeframe to 2035,” Coca-Cola said in a press release late Monday. The changes comes as the company faces litigation for allegedly misrepresenting the environmental impact of its use of plastic, a practice known as greenwashing.
