CMS Seeks Input on Revisiting ACA’s Essential Health Benefits

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is soliciting comments on whether it should alter requirements for essential health benefits, which are one of the most recognizable pillars of the Affordable Care Act.

The agency said Friday it was undertaking a “comprehensive review” of essential health benefits “in light of significant changes in the health insurance and health care landscape, including changes in employer-sponsored insurance coverage, advances in health care innovations and delivery, shifts in the utilization of services, and rising health care costs.”
