NYU Lawyer Approved by Senate to Lead Biden Regulation Team (1)

The Senate confirmed President Joe Biden‘s choice to lead the White House’s regulations office, positioning that team to have its first permanent leader in almost two years.

The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, known as OIRA, is one of the most quietly powerful in the federal government. It’s charged with vetting rules penned by individual agencies. Without control of Congress, Biden will need OIRA’s help to advance his plans through regulation and carry out the laws he’s already signed.
