China Asks Listed Firms to Step Up Internal Corporate Governance

China’s financial regulators urge listed companies and firms seeking for initial public offerings to improve internal corporate governance and risk assessment mechanism, according to a statement.

  • Companies are encouraged to hire accounting firms to carry out internal audit, Ministry of Finance and China Securities Regulatory Commission said in the joint statement.
  • Companies plan to launch IPOs should present audit reports with clean opinion
