Chegg Board, Auditors at Deloitte Beat Academic Cheating Lawsuit

Chegg Inc.‘s board and auditors at Deloitte & Touche LLP on Wednesday defeated a lawsuit claiming the company’s leaders made millions on stock sales while concealing that the business was based on academic cheating.

A Delaware judge dismissed allegations that Chegg’s directors touted its high ethical standards while facilitating cheating, and covering it up by offering tips on evading academic integrity software.

Investor Brian Stansell’s class action complaint said the company’s products have become so pervasive on college campuses that exploiting them is known as “chegging.”
