CEOs Across Globe Commit to ESG, But Not the Term, Survey Finds

Top executives remain dedicated to environmental, social and governance principles, even if term “ESG” has become too political for some companies to use, a survey of CEOs at the world’s largest companies found.

The study, conducted by KPMG and released Thursday, shows a shift in how companies use the term, with many opting for different wording. The survey comes as the politicization of ESG—or at least the term—has reached a fever pitch among politicians in the United States.
