Cellebrite DI Ltd.’s merger with a blank-check company has drawn the protest of human rights activist groups, who are urging federal regulators to block the digital forensic company’s move to go public until it addresses concerns its technology can be exploited by repressive governments to harm their citizens.

Israel-based Cellebrite announced a merger in April with TWC Tech Holdings II, a special purpose acquisition company, giving it an anticipated equity value of $2.4 billion.
