Carlyle Group Countersued In Over Authentix ‘Fire Sale’ (1)

Carlyle Group Inc., which last month sued a Manti Resources affiliate in Delaware to halt its Texas lawsuit challenging the Carlyle-led 2017 sale of anti-counterfeiting company Authentix, was countersued by Manti in the Chancery Court.

The new suit accuses Carlyle of using its control of Authentix’s board—and its influence over J.H. Whitney Capital Partners, another large shareholder—to force through an underpriced $77.5 million sale to private equity firm Blue Water Energy, despite a true company value of more than $200 million.
