A climate industry partnership to push adoption of a universal standard for carbon removal credits aims to influence more federal investment in the still-nascent technology.

Absolute Climate, a California-based quality assurance provider within the carbon removal industry, has linked up with Evident, a global company that produces sustainability certification for carbon credits, the two companies announced Wednesday. They are hoping to prevent companies and governments from making misleading or false claims on emissions that could manipulate carbon markets.
