Gotham Green Partners LLC, a private equity firm focused on the cannabis industry, filed suit in Delaware against a Common Citizen affiliate, claiming the Michigan-based pot purveyor is wrongly refusing to recognize its exercise of warrants to buy preferred equity units.
The lawsuit, made public Tuesday, targets Common C Holdings LP, allegedly an affiliate providing “support services, financing, intellectual property licensing, accounting and professional coordination, and real estate support services to MPM Companies LP,” which runs the Common Citizen brand.
