BNP Paribas Says Sudan Ruling That Hit Stock Is Isolated One (1)

BNP Paribas SA reiterated its view that a recent court ruling, which had led to a stock price plunge, doesn’t apply to other cases, in an effort to contain legal uncertainty.

“Any attempt to extrapolate is clearly incorrect,” the French bank said in a statement on Tuesday, referring to the verdict. “There is no causal link between the harm suffered by these individuals and the standard financial services provided by the bank, which were authorized by European law and Swiss law.”
