South Dakota voters are the first who can weigh in on one of this year’s abortion ballot questions. Early voting began today, though with an asterisk.
There’s an unresolved court case challenging the legality of the petitions that qualified the abortion initiative for the ballot. Life Defense Fund is asking a state court to invalidate the amendment and any votes for it. A hearing on the group’s motion for summary judgment is now set for Dec. 2.
