BGOV Bill Analysis: H.R. 8674, Nuclear Fuel Milestone Projects

The Energy Department would be directed to award milestone-based projects for the development and demonstration of advanced nuclear fuel technology under H.R. 8674.

The measure would also direct the department to carry out milestone-based projects that increase domestic fabrication and recycling capacity of spent nuclear fuel.

A milestone-based approach ties funding to technical and financial goals of a selected project.
