Bain Sued Over Cerevel Trades Before $8.7 Billion Sale to AbbVie

Bain Capital LP and Perceptive Advisors LLC affiliates exploited inside information to extract a $140 million windfall from Cerevel Therapeutics Holdings Inc. before its $8.7 billion sale to AbbVie Inc., according to an unsealed lawsuit.

A pension fund is suing the private equity firms over their trades ahead of the transaction, saying they leveraged their control over the neuroscience business to buy shares worth $145 million when they knew a deal with AbbVie was likely around the corner.
