Another Auto Body Repair Antitrust Case Dismissed

Another suit claiming national car insurance companies colluded to fix auto body repair service rates at rock-bottom levels has been dismissed by a Florida federal court (Ind. Autobody Ass’n, Inc. v. State Farm Mut. Auto. Ins. Co., M.D. Fla., 6:14-cv-06001-GAP-TBS, dismissed 2/29/16).

In this case, one of 24 brought by auto body shops and consolidated before Judge Gregory A. Presnell of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Indiana body shops alleged that insurers agreed to set reimbursement rates based on State Farm Insurance Co.'s abusively low standard.
