Amex Shareholders Vote Against Climate Lobbying Report Proposal

American Express investors rejected a shareholder proposal Monday that would have asked the company to produce a report detailing how its net zero carbon footprint goals align with its lobbying activities.

The company committed to achieve a net-zero carbon emissions goal by 2035. According to the proponent of the resolution, Amex doesn’t disclose enough information about its involvement with trade associations, coalitions or other organizations that lobby lawmakers.
