Amazon Inc., Alphabet Inc. and Meta Inc. face shareholder proposals from human rights activists seeking greater transparency from the tech companies on a range of issues from racial equity to the proliferation of hate speech on their platforms.
The 15 proposals, brought by investors including As You Sow, Trillium Asset Management and the Northwest Coalition for Responsible Investment, also raise concerns about artificial intelligence and targeted ads, online safety for children and minors, and user privacy rights.
